Melody S. Boone is a mixed media artist with an interdisciplinary art practice, currently living and working in South Orange, NJ. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Art in 2003 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and her Masters of Fine Art in 2009 from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.


Melody has been featured in numerous group exhibitions throughout Hampton Roads, VA, New York, New Jersey.  She has worked with several professional artists, has participated in artist residencies, co-ops, and has received artist fellowships and grants.


As her work expands, Melody continues to gain further knowledge about herself and her family history. Through her emersion in black and art history, Melody attempts to use her abstracted narratives and visual cues as a way to dispel notions about race.
